Pearson Learning ?Success Maker? is multimedia educational technology software/ program currently being used as part of the curriculum at Rio Grande City CISD it has increase student achievement and their attitude towards learning. It offers core curriculum based standards educators have used the reports to effectively motivate and individualize each students needs. Students are placed five months below grade level until completing three hundred sessions during this time students undergo IPM (Initial Placement Mode). When sessions are completed software/program places each student at an appropriate grade level to begin core area work. Educators must review data and group students with like weaknesses in groups of four and engage in targeted small group instruction. Students advance at their own pace tasks are similar, but instruction for each student is different and challenging. |

B. J. Pinchbeck?s Homework Helper
B.J. Pinchbeck has set up a web site to try to help you with that homework chore. The site helps students find the information they need to finish homework for any school subject.
Benefit: Students don?t have to poke around the Internet searching for information. B. J. tells everyone exactly where to find everything, from simple dictionaries to online art galleries. His site has links to nearly 600 great sites, and it?s always growing.

The Internet is like a huge city, so people need a friend to give them directions there, too. Fortunately, you can ask Jeeves for help.
Benefit: This friendly butler lets kids ask questions in any words they want. He?ll then look around the Internet and show them where to find the answer.

When it?s time for a story, kids don?t always have to grab a book off the shelf. Visit Children?s Storybooks Online. This little electronic library is full of all kinds of great tales about animals, adventures, and even the alphabet. There are stories for all kinds of ages.

This site is a bonanza for anyone interested in dinosaurs! The University Of California Museum Of Paleontology, a research institute, shares its dinosaur collection online rather than in some big, brick-and-stone building. And all you have to do is cybersurf in to enjoy all it has to offer!
Benefit: The site is packed with information right from the first page. Learn all about different dinosaurs and the myths about them.

Our Learn to Read section combines explicit instruction in letter-sound relationships, word recognition skills and reading comprehension strategies with opportunities to apply and practice these skills. This site helps kids learn more about all their favorite PBS shows (PBS stands for Public Broadcasting System). You?ll have so many favorite characters to visit and have fun with you may never want to leave!
Benefit: The main PBS site serves up a whole grab bag of fun activities.
Crayola
Crayola factory shows how markers and crayons are made. Those giant barrels of wax in the picture are moved through the plant and eventually become crayons. Once you get familiar with the factory and the company, have some fun with the Scavenger Hunt trivia game.
Benefit: Kids can find all sorts of fun in the Crayola Activity Book, where they can print fun pictures to color and find out about all sorts of great crafts.
